My Practically Perfect Life

Someone once told me that their favorite kind of person is someone who loves Jesus, likes to drink beer and says the “F” word! Well here I am! I am first and foremost a mom! I am a realtor, I remodel houses, I am ordained to officiate weddings and I am a certified fork lift driver! I love to travel anywhere and everywhere I can!! I enjoy working on cars and trucks, I love to cook and I enjoy learning new things about as much as I can! Nobody is perfect, life would be boring. But my life is as close as it comes! Practically Perfect in every way!!

Happiness? How do you figure?

So I have to say I heard this somewhere, and I would give credit where it was but I honestly cannot remember. So, if anyone reads this and knows please tell me!

I stumbled across a phrase that really stuck in my head. The formula for happiness. Like someone actually figured out how to scientifically explain how to obtain happiness! It actually sounds silly when you think about it. Because why would a formula even be necessary. I mean, it’s happiness! Just like…be happy!! And for some people it might be that easy. But for others I think being able to dissect things make them easier to accomplish. Happiness as a whole is easily defined. “The state of being happy”. Ok. Duh! But how the hell do you actually find your happy?? Where do you look? Can you buy it at a second hand store??

Happiness is suggestive really. Because it means something different to everybody. Even the 2 most similar people in the world would define their happy differently. And honestly I think that’s pretty amazing. Think for a minute, if someone asked what your happiness was…what would you say? Your kids? Your job? Your money? Twizzlers?! It could be anything and the really cool part about it is that nobody else ever has to know! Your happiness is your own damn business!! I love it!

Ok, back to the formula. This is how I recall it, I hope I am not destroying it! The formula for happiness is reality divided by expectations. Woah! Is it really that simple?! Take what your reality is, divide what your expectations are and boom!! There is your happiness!! So I know that some people will look at that and think, I’m not in school anymore and don’t need formulas or equations to figure out how to live my life! Cool! Don’t then!! But I think some people can actually look at this and say wow!! That really puts things into perspective. What if you are trying desperately to find happiness and you just can’t. How do you get there? Well…let’s see.

According to this formula, if your reality and your expectations are too close together you will have less happiness. So, try improving your reality! Or, lowering your expectations! Or both!! Those are both things that would help anyone on a day to day basis anyway! And if it helps bring you more happiness then why the hell not?!! And also while I am on my soap box about this, don’t wait until you realize you need more happiness in your life to search for it! Find more now! You can never have too much! And when you find something good when you don’t necessarily need it then you might not get to a point where you ever really do need it. Are you following me?? If you save money because you have a little extra each week then you might never get to the point that you need to find money fast. Happiness is the same thing. Stock up on that shit and save it for a rainy day and even a rainy day won’t be bad!!
